TorGuard review
Pricing
TorGuard offers 4 different pricing plans with different sets of tools. The most affordable one costs $5.95 a month, and it’s just an anonymous proxy server. For $9.99, you may purchase a more professional VPN service (which is dubbed accordingly: VPN Pro). It will take you $6.95 a month for a private secure email, while the advanced all-in-one Privacy Bundle costs $11.54. By combining different suites you can make your own solution perfectly fit for your needs.
Features
Unlike many rivals, TorGuard offers a very interesting solution: BitTorrent-based proxy server for secure file sharing. The Socks5 protocol is supported with access to up to 100 servers, while traffic is directed through several dozens IP servers in multiple countries allowing safe identity masking. There is also a real VPN network with OpenVPN and LT2P support and unlimited traffic.
Security
High security of TorGuard is evidenced in its 256-bit OpenVPN encryption. There are also such tools as MITM and G/PGP. No user actions are stored with the ISP. You can block spam completely in your email by the firewall rules. That said, TorGuard collects some personal data after registration in marketing purposes.
Support
However, TorGuard should keep on improving its user support. Many complained that they had got a response to an email only 5 days later; chat support is claimed but doesn’t work. That said, TorGuard has a high-quality website with lots of handful tips and docs. For example, there are detailed instructions on software installation for all supported platforms, the forum offers lots of help from the community.
